People belonging to the Roma community walk in a camp as the huge holed-out shell of an apartment building and the pungent stench of tons of rubbish was all that was left on September 17, 2010, of the so-called „Building 20” on the outskirts of the town of Yambol, a once well-meaning attempt to integrate the Roma that ended up by being demolished by the people it sheltered. France has deported some 1,000 Roma migrants to Bulgaria and Romania since last month, and more than 8,000 Roma have been deported since the beginning of the year, after 9,875 were expelled in 2009.
