TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY ISMET HAJDARI
A Roma family during their arrival at the Pristina airport on July 20, 2010. For Roma kids expelled by Germany, Kosovo is a nightmare. They arrived in Germany in the 1990s fleeing the brutal crackdown on Kosovo by late Serbian strongman Slobodan Milosevic’s, which ended with a bloody conflict in 1999. Now they are being sent back Kosovo, which declared independence in 2008 dispite fierce Serbian opposition. Although Pristina agreed with Berlin to admit all Roma refuges from Kosovo, minister for welfare Nenad Rasic admitted that his country simply did not have the resources to receive and integrate all returnees.
