A Bosnian Armed Forces pilot (L) helps a villager through more than a meter of snow to board a helicopter and be evacuated from the village of Ulog on February 10, 2012. Helicopters ferried food and medicine to snowed-in inhabitants of village Ulog, as Europe’s 14-day-old cold snap tightened its frigid grip on the continent, where more than 400 have died as a direct result. Later on Friday one of the Bosnian Armed Forces helicopters (MI 8), flown in a evacuation mission in Eastern Bosnia, emergency landed near a small town of Kalinovik. According to Bosnian Defence Ministry, no passengers or flight crew members were injured. AFP PHOTO/ ELVIS BARUKCIC
